MY ROLE

UI Designer

MY KEY ACTIVITIES

User interface design, use of and updates to design system, collaboration with full project team, communications with client.

THE CHALLENGE

Mitsubishi’s vehicle offers needed greater user engagement to help drive higher conversion rates.

Mitsubishi's vehicle offers needed greater visual prominence while maintaining brand cohesion. The UI had to guide users toward key conversion points and integrate non-vehicle promotions without overshadowing vehicle-specific deals. Working within the existing design system required balancing innovation with established patterns, while ensuring responsiveness across all device sizes.

Project goals included:

  • Create visually striking offer presentations to capture user attention
  • Improve clarity and accessibility of offer information
  • Streamline the path from browsing vehicle offers to action
  • Enhance navigation between offers across different vehicles and models
  • Accommodate non-vehicle specific promotions
  • Ensure consistent experience across all devices
  • Update the design system with new UI elements

THE APPROACH

Effective collaboration with project stakeholders was critical to ensuring seamless delivery of UI designs.

I began with UX handover meetings to thoroughly understand the wireframes and user journeys. Working with another UI designer, we created multiple design approaches for each page section and vetted these with the development team for technical feasibility.

After incorporating developer feedback, we presented our designs to the client with clear rationales for each decision. Following client feedback, we refined our designs and presented updated versions for final approval.

I created comprehensive developer handover notes alongside the finalized UI designs to ensure accurate implementation. Once the offers pages were completed, we updated Mitsubishi's design system with our new components and patterns to maintain consistency for future projects.

THE SOLUTION

Offers listing page

The redesigned offers listing page features:

  • High-impact offer cards with clear content hierarchy
  • Sticky "Show Offers For" toggle for easy filtering
  • Vehicle dropdown navigation for quick access
  • Visual distinction between offer types
  • Prominent CTAs with clear hierarchy

Offer detail pages

Key enhancements include:

  • Intuitive model selection between vehicle variants
  • Interactive colour selection with visual feedback
  • Structured information in scannable sections
  • Persistent CTAs throughout the experience
  • Related offers section encouraging further explorationy

Responsive design implementations

The responsive approach included:

  • Reorganised content hierarchy for smaller screens
  • Touch-friendly interaction points
  • Collapsible sections for mobile scannability

Design system updates

We expanded Mitsubishi's design system with:

  • New vehicle offer and general offer card components in various states
  • Enhanced navigation patterns for filtering offers and navigating between offers for different vehicles
  • Vehicle model offers and key information components
  • States for all vehicle model offer components and interactions

These additions ensure consistency for future updates and provide reusable patterns for other areas of the website.

OUTCOMES

What did we achieve?

This project transformed a basic offers section into a compelling, conversion-focused experience. The redesign delivered:

  • Improved visual coherence across the platform
  • Enhanced navigation between offers and models
  • Clearer conversion paths for users
  • More flexible design system for future needs

By enhancing visual appeal while maintaining usability and brand consistency, the redesign serves both Mitsubishi's marketing goals and their customers' need for accessible information. My contribution demonstrates my ability to evolve established design systems while improving interfaces for better business outcomes, and collaborate effectively within a broader project team.
